Bespoke Approach
I'm grateful that my inspiration derives from working with many different private clients for bespoke work. I meet them where they are in their process, form a collaboration and gain inspiration from the experience. I thrive on the unexpected and love a challenge, and my clients have all helped me grow as a designer and inspired ready-to-wear collections for my atelier. They keep me on my toes and don't allow me to become complacent in my work.
Bespoke Process
My process is very straightforward. When we agree to work together, I take care to understand how the piece will fit into my client's lifestyle so that it's comfortable and perfectly functional. Then we discuss the aesthetic, which is, of course, deeply interwoven with meaning. When I re-set a beloved family heirloom or create an engagement ring my goal is to tell a story that creates a powerful bond between the piece and the person.
Once my client and I are aligned on the material and direction, I create drawings by hand. A handmade drawing is the best way to convey the spirit of my one-of-a-kind pieces; they have so much more depth of character than any computer rendering. When the client approves their design, I give the finalized drawing to the client as a memento of our time together. I'm humbled and proud to say that I have many repeat clients.
